The project situates itself between the hypothetical shift in the main source of power used in the Svalbard Archipelago. The future research being lead on Svalbard, situates itself as the main industry, overruling the potential of generating power from a long lost coal industry.
Stellar Laborbitory, situated on the Breinosa mountain, introduces a new artificial elevated landscape, that makes it possible to navigate through a topography that is normally ruled by polar bears and strong winds.
The main building, conquers the different times of the Universe with rooms that scale the Universe down to a tangible size, being able to visualize the human scale with the size of a star. The second element, is an elevated path through the landscape, protected from the potential threat of the imminent polar bear population, that is currently larger than the actual inhabitants of Svalbard. The path takes the visitor through pavilions that shift and orientate themselves according to the optimal position for viewing the constellations, planets and other elements of the sky.
